Testing Services*
QRI provides a variety of testing services* to the Triangle area of North Carolina.
Radon Testing
Radon is reported by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to be the No 2 leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S., and has recommended that every home be tested.
QRI offers onsite sampling for new and existing homes following EPA protocol for testing procedures. An EPA-listed laboratory is used to interpret the results and a written report is provided to the client upon completion of the testing.
Water Testing/Sampling
QRI routinely provides the more routine types of water testing such as total choliform, lead in water, nitrates/nitrites (some of which are required by certain types of mortgage loans). Results from a certified laboratory are usually available within 2 -3 days, dependent upon the testing being conducted.
More complex testing is available for specific concerns such as volatile organic compounds, toxic metal profiles, and organic solvent profiles.
Mold Testing/Sampling
Mold testing, to determine the presence of harmful types of mold, are available. QRI can perform air sampling, swab sampling, and/or carpet sampling to determine whether there are specific types of mold present in the building. Samples are analyzed by an independent, EPA certified laboratory and a report is issued to the client.
We do not provide any mitigation or 'clean-up' services. Those types of services will be referred to an independent professional.
Carbon Monoxide Testing
QRI can conduct Carbon Monoxide (CO) testing of the gas and/or oil burning appliances in the home to discover whether or not the appliances are producing excess CO. Carbon Monoxide is a colorless, tasteless, invisible, odorless gas produced as a by-product of improper and/or incomplete combustion and can be fatal at elevated concentrations.
